the new, new, new, new light on the generation: just believe it -- or else!.
the watchtower, august 1st, 2001 issue, page 14, paragraph 8:.
"first, since oneness is to be observed, a mature christian must be in unity and full harmony with fellow believers as far as faith and knowledge are concerned.

recently i have been approached by an elder and asked if i could get going again in the door to door preaching activity due to not having any time in for three months.
i told him it was due to health reasons, etc.
now it seems i am due for a sheperding call in the very near future.
you might choose to postphone the visit or maybe even go along with it and ZIP THE LIP on anything remotley 'apostate'.
let them think they can help or encourage you, give it a token go anf fade off again?
i would only talk 607 or anything else when you are really ready for the fallout.
It would be the same result as if you told them you were commiting fornication.
good luck, keep us posted!

i see all the outrage about the "generation" change, but these changes have been going on all the time.
the gullible swallowed it before, so the gb probably reckoned they will lose only the weak ones anyway.. i have not read their excuse for the current position, so i can only go by the few comments i have read.
from those comments, i think the gb have either mismanaged the change or this is yet one more step in a long saga.. if i were the gb, my argument would have gone like this:.
You are right Doug...
any who leave over it will simply be the spiritualy weak ones... so sad...now lets go witnessing...
when in reallity they are likely the strongest and still have the lights switched on.

"you would make a good pioneer!".
1. how did one sister feel about her pioneer ministry?.
1 "i could not have found any other work that could have brought me as much contentment or could have been so spiritually rewarding.
6 Overcoming Obstacles: But what if you say, 'I do not have the desire to pioneer.' If that is the way you feel at first, pray to Jehovah about the way you feel and tell him, 'I do not know if pioneering is for me, but I want to do what is pleasing to you.' (Ps. 62:8; Prov. 23:26) Then look for his direction through his Word and organization. Many regular pioneers first "tasted" pioneering as auxiliary pioneers, and the joy they experienced moved them to pursue a career in fulltime service.-Ps. 34:8.
Crikey moses! What crap, typical WT leading
1. Pray to Jehovah
2. Use the words we tell you to use
3.Read only our literature that is only ever pro pioneer
4.try it out
5. You will arrive at the only conclusion we lead you to.
6. you WILL pioneer

just setting the record straight.
there is another thread that notes a claim on wiki that said that ray has died.. he had a stroke yesterday, and is in the hospital.
he is still alive.
It will be very sad when he does pass, as he must at some time.
I remember his leaving the WT. I wish i had read his book 12 years ago when i left.
I feel for his wife, she is also to be admired for following and supporting her couragous husband.

it's funny how when you think you've gotten queued up in the paradise line how you'll pooh pooh detractors.. age has a way of sobering you up.. of course the internet was a great help.. if you want to find out what's wrong with anything, all you have to do is select the topic and throw in a pejorative, and bam!, you've got hundreds if not thousands of people who'll give you the other side.. if you've not in a jw family, and you're not a mental troglodyte, i can't see anyone making that koolaid-bath plunge into jw-land..
i was an apologist for the whole 12 years out until 6 months ago...that changed after about a week of reading on here!

in 1954 a controversial court case, douglas walsh vs. the right honorable james latham clyde, m.p.c.
was held in scotland to determine.
if jehovah's witnesses should be exempt from military service and granted status as "ordained ministers".. what is of outstanding interest is that testimony in this trial is extraordinarily revealing.
I see it as mattering not whether the bible can be trusted or the arguments put forward in apology on this.
What matters is the attitude of those on the stand in this trial. The absolute rule that you are obligated to believe and follow their particular understanding because it is backed by a chosen scripture is ludicrous.
Equaly so is the reality that if you dont you get disfellowshipped and shunned.
The apology is also made that we as men are imperfect and that this somehow excuses any wrong teachings and the harm done.
Perhaps if all the WT soc had was a couple of minor errors in understanding that may be well and good. But i hope 'debater' stays around long enough to really look honestly into the hundreds and hundreds of other gross errors and misconceptions of this religion rather than just quoting bible verses cut and pasted from the CD in an attempt to battle the 'apostates'.

this is lifted from a downloadable 'childrens note book for the 2010 d/cs' :.
http://www.jwforum.net/portal/ i found it in the twitter section.
when do you want to be baptized?.
Dear debator, yes i do type negative things about the JWs on here. Thats partly what its for. This is Jehovahs witness .net, not some other group forum. If i have a beef with the mormons or catholics i'll go tackle them. but here its about JWs.
That said, i do not care for the sucking in of children with the sort of declusion offered by the WT soc. Those 'note books' are part of the deal even though not offical WT lit.
How about some of the questions read; how old was jesus when he got baptized? Why did he wait till that age? How important is it to shun some in your family? There is no balance in those questions. They are designed to lead the child to the only answer acceptable to the WT soc. Do you honestly think that any kid is going to answer 'no' to those questions? seriously! With parents and elders looking on?
Their target right now is my two kids. Too young to drive, to marry, to drink, to plan what career they want, to know anything about life are to be scooped up by the witnesses without question. You tell me where the caution is for them. Where is the lessons on the reality of shunning? The reality of what it will do to them when their brains mature in their twenties and they might change their minds and want out? Where is it explained about the harsh reality of the blood doctrine?
It's all glossed over with rose colored glasses somewhere in the millions of pages of watchtowers. But are the cold hard facts EVER included in the rosy, gee why dont you get baptized son talk? NO. Is it in the study book for baptism candidates? NO.
It sickens me too that the answer for them should they hesitate about baptism or 'what if i sin later' is just ''pray to Jehovah''.
You may not like it, but yes the WT does demonize technology, having a good education, too much time with family, finacial sucurity and such. Again, no balance is offered, or suggested in those headline points either, and i know from the dozens of assemblies i have been to that there will be no real balance in the talks either.
lastly, please refrain from quoting the bible on my posts. I do not care for it, i do not consider it an authority on anything.
